My latest bag pattern is out. Worked flat, this bag uses short row shaping and a modified Kitchener to give it a seamless look. The addition of contrasting ribbon and bead will add interest.

Notes:

Yarn- Fingering / 4 ply (14 wpi) 197 - 200 yards

Gauge- 9 stitches and 10 rows = 1 inch in stockinette

Needle size- US 5/0 - 1.0 mm

Size- 6 inches wide by 3.5 inches closed (5.25 inches open). [15.2 cm wide by 8.9 cm closed (13.3 cm open)]

Yarn – Variegated Fingering weight. 275yds 238 meters

Needles – US 1 cable at least 32” long or set of 5 dpn's
Gauge – 9 stitches per inch & 10 rows per inch
Overall Size – 6 inches wide by 4.5 inches deep (not including the handle)
Other – stitch holder, waste yarn, tapestry needle.
Notes on this pattern: A basic understanding of entrelac is helpful. This pattern is loaded with links and works well as an online tutorial.

Bag of Doom!

Good morning knitters,

I published a new pattern on www.Ravelry.com called Bag of doom.




The idea behind this bag was so that I may carry my yarn ball while knitting a particular sock. (I get bored very quickly) I didn't just want a plain bag I wanted something fun and intricate. One that would take some one's eyes away from the current knitting project filled with mistakes to the bag.

With all that said I also wrote up the pattern as I went along. The name was inspired because I became stressed out at what component to add next to the bag. It became my Bag of Doom. It might also have something to do with the Doom song as sung by Gir on Invader Zim. This pattern is loaded with tutorials making this bag very doable for the adventurous beginner.

OK, I guess that is all the procrastination I can milk out of this; I ought to go and knit on that sock I mentioned.

Out of Yarn

I've got a new pattern for you. This one uses scrap yarn. Any weight and approriate needles.

For this one I used Pound of Love. Just some left over yarn from a baby blanket.

Sine Curve Shawl

I've been working on a new project. A shawl that is to be donated to the Prayer Shawl Ministry. The yarn is sooo soft and warm. The colors are dreamy. The season is summer, so I'm not motivated. I'm hot. But the sooner I get this done the sooner I will eat some lemon lime sherbert in celebration.

But how does one get a pdf link? I don't know. I made a pdf. But I don't know how to get the link.

I'm rambling again. I'm not sure if anyone reads this blog. If you do here is a pattern for you to try. It's very simple.

Needle Size: us15

Yarn: James C. Brett Marble Chunky, bulky 12 ply, 341 yds or equivalent weight

Cast on: 71

R1: knit.

R2: purl.

R3: knit.

R4: knit 3, *k2tog, k2tog, k1, yon, k1, yon, k1, yon, k1, yon, k1, ssk, ssk, * knit 3.

R5: knit 3, purl till 3 stitches remain, knit 3.

Repeat rows 4 and 5 till length is achieved.

R6: (right side facing you) purl.

R7: knit.

R8: purl.

Cast off.

Do you know this cat? I saw him/her near Rider College. I hope this sweet cat finds it's way home soon. The poor thing seems friendly yet lost & frightened.

More Patterns

I recently made a blanket, but was unpleased with the size. I, in the end, frogged the whole thing, but before I did that I wrote out the pattern and have it on Ravelry as a free download. http://www.ravelry.com/dl/audrey-bochantin-designs/19340?filename=Canterbury_Baby_Blanket.pdf

While I felt the pattern was simple, many others (90 on the first day available) thought it was good enough to download. Now I've come to the conclusion that I don't know what people want when looking to knit something. With that said I made a poll at the bottom of this page asking you to pick the type of knitting pattern you would like to see from me. Voting ends on 5/10/09. Thanks for your help!
