Hello
readers,
It's
been far too long since I posted last. So much has not happened.
Well, knitting has not happened. All other manner of life has.
Tendonitis, depression, car wreck, vacation to Florida, new
youth pastor, and plans to move to another state.
After
knitting a sock and a half in one day in April '11; my wrist and
thumb quit. The throbbing and pinching pain sent me to the
doctor. He told me to stop knitting. After looking at my expression
he took a step back and said “at least for three months”.
Those
were three very long months, and still the pain was there. Next I
went for physical therapy. Please; I beg you all to learn from my
mistakes so you don't have to go through this. Take breaks when
knitting. Easy patterns and easy going people means lots of
repetitive stress. (and $30 a visit to the PT twice a week for 6
weeks!!!!)
After
the physical therapy I taught my self to knit continental (with yarn
in left hand). I had to look up that name. I also spent a lot of time
translating my existing patterns into German & French. This is
still a work in process.
There
have been many new designs running through my head, and I plan to get
back into the pattern writing process. Two of them are a shawl and a
flat knit sock. I hope to finish the sock by winter and the shawl by
spring.
Here is a sneak peek at the yarn.
